With the CD 30.3, a suitable player for the AVM30 and AVM 30.3 series is available for the first time. We have transferred all our know-how from the EVOLUTION Line into the CD 30.3. This superb sounding CD player was designed for high-quality playback of all CDs according to the Redbook standard. The built-in Pure CD drive is specially designed for this purpose, it uses a monofocal lens system and plays according to the SPDIF protocol, so it is not a redesigned DVD drive. The 30.3 CD player is not only based on our decades of experience in the construction of sophisticated amplifier circuits and excellent D/A converters, but is also characterized by excellent values in terms of fidelity and thus gives you a lasting and unclouded music enjoyment of the absolute top class.

All functions of the A30.3 are easy and intuitive to operate - at the same time extensive adjustment options are available (input sensitivity, tone control, home theater loops and much more). The perfectly crafted housing made of painted sheet steel provides the stable base to safely support the two weighty 550VA main transformers. The brushed aluminum front defines the look of the AVM 30.3 series. Standard cabinet finishes include silver and black. The solid and stylish RC 3 aluminum remote control is included.

The new AVM30.3 series will debut in the fall of 2020. Like all AVM devices, the A 30.3 has been completely developed in AVM's noble Malsch factory in Baden, Germany, to transfer the latest circuit methods of the award-winning components from the OVATION and EVOLUTION series adapted to the AVM30.3 series. Repeated, intensive quality controls during all manufacturing steps and a break-in period of several days for each individual device ensure AVM's promise of maximum reliability in the long term.

Package Contents

NOTE:

After unpacking, check the device and accessories for completeness and transport damage. If the original packaging has already been opened, please contact your retailer. Often, a retailer will prepare your new device for use at home by pre-configuring several settings for you.

Power Connection

NOTE:

Keep the device turned off (power switch (23) in the off position) until all cable connections to the rest of the system have been established.

RC 3 Remote Control

NOTE:

When using the optional RC 8 remote control, you can also switch the sampling rate and filters (< FILTER > buttons). Additionally, the RC 8 allows direct selection of specific CD tracks using the numeric keys (single- or double-digit).

If the remote control is not functioning effectively, please ensure the following: Always point the front end of the remote control toward the device you wish to operate. Excessive distance, depleted batteries, or obstructive objects between the remote control and the device may impair smooth operation.

Replacing Batteries

If the range of the remote control decreases significantly, replace the batteries. Remove the six screws marked with arrows on the underside of the remote control (WARNING: Do not open the two middle screws without arrow markings!). Turn the remote control over and remove the bottom section with the circuit board. Remove the depleted batteries and replace them with two new ones of the same type (Lithium button cell 3V, Type CR2032). Ensure correct battery polarity when inserting (marking "+" facing up), as incorrect polarity may damage the electronics.

Turning the Device On/Off

WARNING:

The device is not completely disconnected from the power supply in standby mode. To fully disconnect it, turn off the power switch (23) on the rear of the device or unplug the power cable from the IEC connector (22).

Volume Setting: Fixed/Variable Level

NOTE:

If the variable volume setting is active, you can adjust the volume of the CD 30.3's analog outputs using the VOLUME buttons on the RC 3 or RC 8 remote control, or by pressing and holding the INPUT buttons (2, 3).

Sample Rate and Filter Settings

NOTE:

This setting can be adjusted without restriction in DAC operation. In CD player mode, it only works when the CD player is in PLAY or PAUSE mode. In STOP mode, the PROG button is used for track programming (see section 2.13.1).

NOTE:

With the optional RC 8 remote control, filter settings can be adjusted using the [FILTER] buttons.

Compatible CD Formats

NOTE:

Some manufacturers produce CDs with copy protection that do not conform to the 'Red Book' standard. We (and many other device manufacturers) cannot guarantee that such CDs will play properly. If you have purchased such a CD, you can return it to your retailer (even if the packaging has already been opened!). However, this is only possible if the CD case does not clearly display a notice regarding the copy protection and non-standard design of the CD.

WARNING:

Do not use mats or stickers on CDs, as these may cause imbalances that disrupt playback or damage the drive mechanism. We also advise against using small 8-cm CDs and shape CDs, as they may jam in the drive and cause mechanical damage.

Inserting/Ejecting a CD

NOTE:

If a CD is already in the drive, the slot is blocked, preventing the insertion of another CD. If the inserted CD is unreadable or if a data CD or DVD is mistakenly inserted, the display will show NO AUDIODISC, and the CD will be ejected immediately.

Function of SKIP Buttons

NOTE:

Fast forward or reverse search across track boundaries is not possible. The search will automatically stop at the end of the current track, and the device will switch to PAUSE mode.

Programming

NOTE:

The maximum number of tracks that can be programmed is 99, and the maximum program duration is 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

Volume Control

NOTE:

If a digital input is selected and no valid signal is detected (NO DIG SIGNAL), the volume control function will be disabled.

Care of the Housing

WARNING:

When cleaning, ensure that no liquid enters the housing. For safety, unplug the power cable before wiping with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the surface or labels on the housing.
