Included Accessories

NOTE:

After unpacking, check the device and accessories for completeness and any transport damage. If the original packaging has already been opened, please contact your retailer. Often, a retailer prepares your new device for use by pre-configuring several settings before delivery.

Power Connection

NOTE:

Keep the device turned off (power switch (29) in the off position) until all cable connections to the rest of the system have been established.

RC 3 Remote Control

NOTE:

With the optional RC 8 remote control, you can also adjust the sampling rate and filter settings using the [FILTER] buttons. Additionally, the RC 8 allows direct selection of specific CD tracks using its numeric keys (single- and double-digit).

Replacing Batteries

If the range of the remote control decreases significantly, replace the batteries. Remove the six screws marked with arrows on the underside of the remote control (WARNING: Do not open the two middle screws without arrow markings!). Turn the remote control over, remove the bottom section with the circuit board, and replace the depleted batteries with two new ones of the same type (Lithium button cell 3V, Type CR2032). Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries ("+" marking facing up), as incorrect polarity may damage the electronics.

Compatible CD Formats

NOTE:

Some manufacturers produce CDs with copy protection that do not conform to the 'Red Book' standard. We (and many other device manufacturers) cannot guarantee proper playback of such CDs. If you have purchased such a CD, you may return it to your retailer (even if the packaging has been opened). However, this is only possible if the CD case does not clearly indicate the presence of copy protection or non-standard design.

WARNING:

Do not use mats or stickers on CDs, as they may cause imbalances that affect playback or damage the drive mechanism. We also advise against using small 8-cm CDs or shape CDs, as they may jam in the drive and cause mechanical damage.

Inserting/Ejecting a CD

NOTE:

If a CD is already in the drive, the slot is blocked. If the CD is unreadable or if a data CD or DVD is mistakenly inserted, the display will show NO AUDIODISC, and the CD will be ejected immediately.

Programming

NOTE:

The maximum number of tracks that can be programmed is 99, and the maximum program duration is 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

Selecting an Audio Source

NOTE:

If you switch to a different audio source during CD playback, the CD will stop before the input changes. This process may take a few seconds. If a digital input is selected and no compatible digital signal is detected, the display will show NO DIG SIGNAL or NO USB PLUGGED instead of the volume level. In this state, volume adjustment is not available due to the selected digital input.

Volume Control

WARNING:

Please note that even when the gain variable option is enabled, a short press on the selection buttons (2, 3) will switch the input source. To adjust the playback volume, a longer press on the selection buttons (approximately 1 second) is required.

NOTE:

With the optional RC 9 remote control, volume adjustments are always made in increments of 2 dB.

Sample Rate and Filter Settings

NOTE:

For USB, only the two settings NAT / STEEP or NAT / SMOOTH are available.

Set Volume Control

WARNING:

Please note that even when the gain variable option is enabled, a short press on the selection buttons (2, 3) will switch the input source. To adjust the playback volume, a longer press on the selection buttons (approximately 1 second) is required.

Set Display Brightness

NOTE:

The 100% brightness setting may lead to uneven brightness of individual display segments over long periods due to "burn-in effects." Therefore, avoid leaving the device on with this setting unnecessarily. When not in use (e.g., overnight), switch the device to standby mode.

Care of the Housing

WARNING:

Under no circumstances should liquid enter the interior of the housing during cleaning. Additionally, for safety reasons, unplug the power cable before wiping with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the surface or printed markings on the housing.

Warranty Conditions

NOTE:

If you are sending your device from outside Germany, please ensure proper export documentation. We cannot cover costs incurred due to improper export, lack of declaration, or customs clearance.
