Included Accessories

NOTE:

Please check the device and accessories for completeness and transport damage after unpacking. If the original packaging is already open, please contact your retailer. Often, a retailer prepares your new device for use by pre-configuring several settings before delivery.

Power Connection

NOTE:

Please keep the device switched off (power switch (29) in the off position) until you have made all cable connections to the rest of your system.

RC 3 Remote Control

NOTE:

When using the optional RC 8 remote control, you can additionally adjust the sampling rate and filter settings using the [FILTER] buttons.

Replacing Batteries

If the range of the remote control decreases significantly, you need to replace the batteries. Remove the six screws marked with arrows on the underside of the remote control (WARNING: do not open the two middle screws without arrow markings!). Turn the remote control over and remove the bottom panel with the circuit board. Remove the used batteries and replace them with two new ones of the same type (Lithium coin cell 3V, type CR2032). Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries (mark "+" facing upwards), as incorrect polarity may damage the electronics.

Turning the Device On/Off

WARNING:

The device is not fully disconnected from the power supply in standby mode. To completely disconnect it, use the power switch (29) on the back of the device or unplug the power cable from the cold device socket (28).

Compatible CD Formats

NOTE:

Some manufacturers produce CDs with copy protection that do not comply with the 'Red Book' standard. We (and many other device manufacturers) cannot guarantee that such CDs will play correctly. If you have purchased such a CD, you can return it to your dealer (even if the packaging is already opened), provided the CD case does not clearly indicate the copy protection and non-standard compliance.

WARNING:

Do not use mats or stickers on CDs. These can cause imbalance, affect playback quality, or damage the drive mechanism. We also advise against using small 8-cm CDs and shape CDs, as they could jam in the drive and damage the mechanism.

Inserting/Ejecting CDs

NOTE:

If a CD is already in the drive, the slot is blocked. If the CD is unreadable or a data CD or DVD is mistakenly inserted, the display will show NO AUDIODISC, and the CD will be ejected immediately.

Programming

NOTE:

The maximum number of titles that can be programmed is 99, and the maximum program duration is 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

Selecting Audio Sources

NOTE:

If you switch to another audio source during CD playback, the CD will stop before the input change occurs. This process may take a few seconds. If a digital input is selected and no compatible digital signal is present, the display will show NO DIG SIGNAL or NO USB PLUGGED instead of the volume display. In this state, volume adjustments cannot be made due to the chosen digital input.

Volume Control

WARNING:

Please note that even with the gain variable option enabled, a short press of the two selector buttons (2, 3) will switch the input source. To adjust the playback volume, a longer press of approximately 1 second on the two selector buttons is required.

NOTE:

With the optional RC 9 remote control, volume adjustments are made in steps of 2 dB.

Sample Rate and Filter Settings

NOTE:

For USB connections, only the settings NAT / STEEP or NAT / SMOOTH are available.

Set Volume Control

WARNING:

Please note that even with the gain variable option enabled, a short press of the two selector buttons (2, 3) will switch the input source. To adjust the playback volume, a longer press of approximately 1 second on the two selector buttons is required.

Set Display Brightness

NOTE:

The brightness setting of 100% may lead to uneven brightness in individual display segments over extended periods of use due to "burn-in effects." Therefore, avoid leaving the device on with this setting unnecessarily. Turn it off or set it to standby mode when not in use (e.g., overnight).

Care of the Housing

WARNING:

Under no circumstances should liquid enter the interior of the housing during cleaning. Additionally, for safety reasons, unplug the power cord before wiping the device with a damp cloth. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners that could damage the housing's surface or labeling.
