Scope of Delivery

NOTE:

Please check the device and accessories for completeness and transport damage after unpacking. If the original packaging has already been opened, contact your dealer. Often, a dealer prepares your new device before delivery by pre-configuring some settings for you. All network-enabled devices are delivered with the latest version of the corresponding streaming software, which may need to be updated during initial setup.

Power Connection

NOTE:

Please keep the device switched off (power switch (35) in the off position) until all cable connections to the system have been made.

Network Installation

NOTE:

All devices with an integrated AVM X-STREAM Engine® generally prefer a wired network connection (LAN) and will automatically use it once a network cable is connected. For smooth operation via Wi-Fi, remove any connected network cable. Otherwise, a wired connection will automatically be established.

Setting Up a Wired Network Connection

NOTE:

If no available device is displayed, check that the network cable is correctly installed and that the device is on the same network/Wi-Fi as your smartphone or tablet. Refresh the view in the RC X App by pulling down to search for devices again. Note that the RC X App is only compatible with models featuring the integrated AVM X-STREAM Engine®.

Turning the Device On/Off

CAUTION:

The device is not completely disconnected from the power supply in standby mode. To fully disconnect it, turn off the power switch (35) on the back or unplug the power cable from the socket (34).

Compatible CD Formats

NOTE:

Some CDs produced with copy protection that do not comply with the 'Red Book' standard may not play correctly. In such cases, you can return the CD to the dealer, provided the packaging does not clearly indicate the copy protection.

CAUTION:

Do not use mats or stickers on CDs. These may cause imbalance, affecting playback or damaging the drive mechanism. Avoid using small 8-cm CDs and shape CDs, as these may get stuck in the drive and cause mechanical damage.

Inserting/Ejecting a CD

NOTE:

If a CD is already in the drive, the slot is blocked. If the CD is unreadable or is a data CD/DVD, the display will show DISC ERROR. The CD can be ejected using the EJECT button (15).

Programming

NOTE:

A maximum of 99 tracks with a total duration of up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds can be programmed.

Selecting an Audio Source

NOTE:

If you switch to another audio source during CD playback, the CD will stop before the input changes. This process may take a few seconds. For a selected digital input without a compatible signal, the display (9) will show NO SIGNAL or NO USB. In this state, volume settings cannot be adjusted.

CAUTION:

Please note that even with the VARIABLE option activated, a short press of the two selection buttons <> (2, 3) will switch the input source. To adjust the playback volume, a longer press of approximately 1 second on the two selection buttons is required.

NOTE:

With the optional RC 9 remote control, volume adjustment is always performed in 2 dB increments.

Sample Rate and Filter Settings

NOTE:

For USB, only the two settings NAT / STEEP or NAT / SMOOTH are available.

Set Display Brightness

NOTE:

The 100% brightness setting may cause uneven brightness of individual display segments due to "burn-in effects" over prolonged use. Therefore, avoid keeping the device at this setting unnecessarily. Switch it to standby mode when not in use (e.g., overnight).

Set Fixed Volume

CAUTION:

Care of the Enclosure

CAUTION:

Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the device during cleaning. Additionally, for safety reasons, unplug the power cable before wiping with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the surface or markings on the enclosure.
