The PA 8.3 preamplifier is once again the most elaborate pre-amp model in the OVATION series. Consistent attention has been paid to only one thing here: Perfect sound. The way musicians wanted their pieces to sound in the original. Achieving this goal is an enormously difficult undertaking that requires a great deal of musical sensitivity, just as it has been at home at AVM since 1986. The aim of our engineering is to translate this musicality into equipment for home playback. The PA 8.2 has already received numerous reference titles and awards worldwide and serves as a listening instrument for numerous musicians as well as a permanent reference for renowned trade journals and editors. The new PA 8.3 will certainly do the same.

The mono and stereo power amplifiers of the AVM OVATION flagship series have long been ranked among the best power amplifiers in the world. Thus, the demand on a 100% fitting PA 8.3 preamplifier was once again enormously high and yet simple at the same time: It had to be perfect. And yet, in realising the third generation of our analogue and modular OVATION flagship preamplifier, we were not simply concerned with defending our title as one of the world's best preamplifiers: instead, we have devised numerous new technologies over the past few years and our experienced engineers have used the latest and best components to come even closer to our sonic ideal. The motto: Only the best is good enough!

To push it even further, we set out to build a preamplifier that can also grow in the long term in the sign of the rapidly developing computer hifi (as we call it) and the increasing demands on traditional analogue amplifiers. Thus, the PA 8.3 is based on a completely new, modular design. As was already the case with the first generation of the PA 8 preamplifier, this modular concept allows the PA 8.3 to be continually expanded and adapted to personal requirements with additional plug-in modules, or the latest technological modules can be conveniently retrofitted. The appearance of the PA 8.3 is exactly adapted to all power amplifiers of the OVATION flagship series.

The modular concept of the OVATION PA 8.3

The PA 8.3 consists of two parts: The basic unit and the modules. The basic unit carries the newly developed and elaborate linear power supply as well as the processor-based control for all functions and all modules, which can be combined in practically any way and put together for individual requirements. The basic unit automatically recognises which plug-in modules are installed and independently adjusts all menu functions of the basic unit. The addition of further modules, an exchange or the re-plugging of modules on the back of the PA 8.3 thus becomes child's play and can be carried out quickly and with a few simple steps.
