HybridDigitalTM - Class D amplifier

The C 338 uses innovative HybridDigitalTM technology. This is a self-oscillating Class D amplifier with active negative feedback. The amplifier first converts the analogue curved input signal into a square wave signal using pulse width modulation (PWM). The musical information is now exclusively contained in the changing pulse width. Since the power transistors thus only need two switching states - on or off - Hybrid DigitalTM Class D amplifiers, in contrast to Class A and B technology, work extremely efficiently and achieve a power yield of more than 90 %.

Music streaming via Chromecast and Bluetooth

The C 338 has a built-in Chromecast module that allows you to stream audio wirelessly from your phone, tablet or computer to your stereo. You can also stream the millions of music tracks available there directly to your C 338 via the Spotify app. And the Bluetooth receiver built into the amplifier alternatively receives your music files via short-range radio.

  2. Keep Instructions - Retain all safety and operating instructions for future reference.
  3. Observe Warnings - Follow all warnings on the product and in the operating instructions.
  4. Follow Instructions - Adhere to all operating and usage instructions provided for the product.
  5. Cleaning - Unplug the device from the power outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays; clean only with a damp cloth.
  6. Attachments - Do not use attachments that are not recommended by the manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.
  7. Water and Moisture - Do not use this device near water, such as near a bathtub, washbowl, sink, or laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, etc.
  8. Accessories - Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. If the product falls, it could cause serious injury to children or adults and serious damage to the device. Use only carts, stands, tripods, brackets, or tables recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use approved mounting accessories.
  9. Portable Carts - When using a cart, move it with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the cart to tip over.
  10. Ventilation - Slots and openings in the casing are provided for ventilation, ensuring reliable operation and protecting the product from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. Do not place the device on a bed, sofa, carpet, or similar surface. If installed in a cabinet or rack, ensure adequate ventilation is provided according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  11. Power Supply - Operate this device only from the type of power source indicated on the label. Connect it only to properly grounded outlets. If you are unsure about the power supply in your home, consult your dealer or the local power company.
  12. Power Cord Protection - Route power cords so they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed on or against them. Pay special attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and where they exit from the product.
  13. Power Plug - If a power plug or connector is used as a disconnect device, it should remain easily accessible.
  14. Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the product, ensure that the antenna or cable system is grounded to provide some protection against voltage surges and static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information on proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, the size of grounding conductors, the location of the antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.
  15. NOTE TO CABLE-TV INSTALLERS
We direct your attention to NEC Section 820-40, which provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground should be connected to the building’s grounding system as close to the point of cable entry as possible.

  16. Lightning - For added protection during a lightning storm or when the product is left unattended for long periods, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage from lightning and power line surges.
  17. High-Voltage Lines - Outdoor antennas should not be located near overhead power lines or other electrical power circuits, or where they can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outdoor antenna system, extreme care should be taken to avoid touching overhead power lines. Contact with such lines can be fatal.
  18. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integrated multiple sockets. This can cause a risk of electric shock and fire.
  19. Open Flame Sources - Do not place open flame sources, such as lit candles, on the device.
  20. Entry of Foreign Objects and Liquids - Never insert any foreign objects through the openings of the device. They may come into contact with parts carrying dangerous voltages or cause a short circuit that could result in fire or electric shock. Never pour any type of liquid onto the device.
  21. Headphones - Excessive sound pressure from earphones or headphones can cause hearing loss.
  22. Damage Requiring Repair - Unplug the device from the power outlet and have it serviced by qualified personnel if:
    1. The power cord or plug is damaged.
    2. Liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device.
    3. The device has been exposed to rain or water.
    4. The device does not operate normally even when following the operating instructions. Only adjust controls specified in the manual. Incorrect adjustments of other controls may result in damage and often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the device to normal operating condition.
    5. The device has been dropped or damaged in any way.
    6. The device exhibits significant changes in performance. This often indicates that servicing or repair is necessary.
  23. Replacement Parts - If replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician uses original parts specified by the manufacturer or those with the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized replacement parts may cause fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
  24. Battery Disposal - Dispose of used batteries in compliance with legal requirements and local disposal regulations.
  25. Safety Check - After any maintenance or repair work, ask the service technician to perform a safety check to ensure the device is in proper operating condition.
  26. Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The device should only be mounted to a wall or ceiling following the manufacturer's instructions.

WARNING:

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS DEVICE TO RAIN OR MOISTURE, AND DO NOT PLACE LIQUID-FILLED OBJECTS SUCH AS VASES ON THE DEVICE.
