CD Player - Perfect for any party!

For over 45 years, NAD has been making great-sounding products at affordable prices. This is especially true for CD players. For CD players in particular, the veterans among the NAD developers know exactly what they need to do to get even more out of an audio CD. Because in a CD player, many things come together: Mechanics as well as analog and digital technology. So every parameter has an effect on the sound result and demands the utmost attention during development.

For example, to avoid interference from external vibrations and to allow the drive to be inserted accurately, a solid case and the most precise mechanical manufacturing possible are necessary. This is the only way to achieve maximum running smoothness and minimize the number of read errors. Molds made of low-resonance plastic and steel are therefore used for the best performance. The drive is mounted on rails made of hardened steel, and the entire construction of the player is held in place by over 30 joints to ensure maximum stability.

A Wolfson 24-bit D/A converter chip ensures absolutely linear conversion of the precisely clocked PCM data stream into an analog waveform. Operational amplifiers buffer the output signal without adding distortion or noise. The use of multi-level circuit boards and SMD technology allows a sophisticated circuit design with very short signal paths. Each component is powered by a dedicated power supply so that analog and digital circuits, drive and display are supplied separately with the appropriately regulated voltage. The result of the painstaking design is an absolutely natural, dynamic and detailed sound.

In addition to the sound, the upscale features make the NAD C 538 a special experience. All control options on the front, such as play, pause, skip and scan, can also be found on the handy remote control. In addition, further functions such as Random, Program or Repeat can be found on the remote control. The dimmable display shows all necessary information about the number of tracks, play time, remaining time, etc.

The C 538 can also play CD-R discs. Thus, for example, MP3 CDs compiled on the computer can be played with up to 10 hours of playback time. Perfect for every party! For connection to an external D/A converter or AV receiver, the C 538 is equipped with an optical and a coaxial digital connection. Even though the numbers for music downloads and streams continue to rise, the CD player is still the number 1 music source in quite a few households.
