Product
- Modern analoe music playback with belt drive
- Ortofon 2M Red cartridge in MM system
- 9" carbon tone arm
- 10mm stakre glass top with felt mat
- High-quality cinch cable with separate earth conductor
At first glance, the NAD C 588 looks very similar to its less expensive sister model. But under the bonnet of this innovative turntable are numerous special features that also make themselves felt in a more sophisticated sound quality.
For example, the regulated synchronous motor of the C 588 is supplied with an absolutely clean and stable AC voltage by the power supply unit first converting the 230 V from the wall socket into a DC voltage and then electronically generating a precise AC frequency. Furthermore, an electronic speed control guarantees a very constant speed of the glass platter.
A special drive belt, a solid chassis made of high-density MDF and decoupling feet protect the drive unit from possible vibrations of the motor and external vibrations.
A high-quality Ortofon 2M Red magnetic cartridge is factory-mounted in the headshell of the carbon 9-inch tonearm. Anti-skating, the vertical playback angle and azimuth are individually adjustable.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
NOTICE
Read the instruction manual carefully and completely before using the device. Keep the instruction manual for future reference. Strictly follow all warning notices in the instruction manual and on the device, and always observe the following safety rules.
PLACEMENT
- Water and Humidity - Do not use this device near water (e.g., near a bathtub, washbasin, swimming pool, etc.).
- Heat - Do not use this device near heat sources such as heaters, stoves, or other heat-producing devices. It must not be exposed to temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C.
- Surface Placement - Place the device on a flat, level surface.
- Air Circulation - Ensure proper heat dissipation by placing the device with sufficient free space around it (at least 10 cm at the rear and top, and 5 cm on each side). Do not place it on a bed, carpet, or similar surfaces that could block the ventilation openings. Do not place the device in a bookshelf or an enclosed rack where air circulation is restricted.
- Entry of Foreign Objects and Liquids - Ensure that no foreign objects or liquids enter the ventilation openings of the device.
- Stands and Carts - If the device is placed on a stand or cart, move it carefully. Sudden stops, excessive force, and uneven floors may cause the cart and device to tip over.
- Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The device should not be mounted to a wall or ceiling unless specified in the instruction manual.
WARNING!
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS DEVICE TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
- Power Sources - This device must only be connected to power sources as described in the instruction manual and as indicated on the device.
- Polarity - For safety reasons, some devices are equipped with a polarized AC plug, which fits into the socket only one way. If a plug is difficult or impossible to insert into a socket, turn the plug over and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a service technician or replace the socket. Do not attempt to force the plug into the socket, as this may defeat its safety function.
- Power Cord - When unplugging the power cord, pull only the plug itself. Do not pull on the cable! Never touch the power plug with wet hands, as this may cause electric shock or fire hazards. To prevent bending, crushing, or tripping hazards, secure the power cord properly. Pay particular attention to the cable from the device to the socket. Do not overload sockets and extension cords, as this may cause electric shock or fire hazards.
- Extension Cords - To avoid electric shock from exposed plug prongs, do not use polarized plugs with extension cords, device sockets, or other power outlets unless they can be fully inserted.
- When the device is not in use - If the device is not used for several months, unplug the power cord from the socket. Ensure that the power plug is always accessible. Unplug the power cord from the wall socket if the device is not used for an extended period (e.g., several months).
CAUTION
Any modifications or adjustments to this device that are not expressly approved by the manufacturer may result in the user losing the authority or right to operate the device.
