With the additional built-in preamplifier, the Planar 1 Plus can be connected directly to the high level inputs of any system via RCA (RCA) or 3.5mm - jack cables. So there is no need to buy a phono amplifier if the existing equipment does not have a phono input. This specially designed high-quality MM - phono part is based on the multiple award-winning Fono Mini. For use in the Planar 1 Plus, its circuitry should be optimized for highest playback quality. For this purpose we left out the USB computer interface and put the saved effort into further improving an already excellent amplifier. The Planar 1 Plus is thus suitable for connection as a high-level source such as a CD - player. A suitable cable is included for this purpose. The installation of a phono unit in the turntable under the tonearm has undeniable advantages. The carefully shielded tonearm cable is connected directly to the preamplifier and disturbing external influences are thus largely eliminated. The Planar 1 Plus features all the familiar advantages of the basic Planar 1 model, such as the smooth-running 24V motor, a precision platter bearing and the hand-made RB110 tonearm with a factory-fitted carbon cartridge. Setting up the new model is still possible in seconds, because this is the easiest to use and most flexible Rega turntable - put it down, plug it in and start playing immediately.
