Super-Precise "Coherent D/A Converter"
To ensure the best possible sound quality, the SL-G700M2 is equipped with a highly precise D/A converter that converts digital values into analog signals with the utmost accuracy before passing them on to an amplifier. The entire conversion unit operates in three stages: coherent signal processing, the high-performance D/A converter in a dual-mono configuration, and a specially designed discrete amplifier circuit.
Coherent Signal Processing
Technics' newly developed "Coherent Signal Processing" enhances the reproducibility of impulse signals by minimizing amplitude and phase deviations that can occur during the D/A conversion process. The result of this industry-leading digital signal processing is an improvement in sound purity and a clearer soundstage for PCM signals* up to 192 kHz.
Multi-Stage, Low-Noise Power Supply
Since digital audio players process extremely small signals, careful noise suppression is required, as even the slightest noise can significantly affect sound quality. The SL-G700M2 is equipped with a multi-stage "Silent Power Supply" for effective noise suppression. Technics employs an ultra-fast switching power supply (1), uses low-noise regulators (2), and achieves further active noise reduction through a technique called current injection (3). The SL-G700M2 uses a high-speed switching power supply operating at around 300 kHz, the same used in the legendary Technics reference-class amplifier SU-R1000 to power analog circuits. Thanks to this extremely high switching frequency, interference with the music signal is minimized, and a highly responsive, stable power supply is ensured.
Active Noise Cancelling Through Current Injection
Technics' newly developed current injection technology removes unwanted noise components by injecting an inverted-phase current using the "push/pull method" to eliminate the noise signal detected by the circuit.
In Addition to Super Audio CD and MQA, Playback via USB-B Input is Supported
The SL-G700M2 supports playback of the high-quality Super Audio CD disc format and features a dedicated SACD/CD mode, "Pure Disc Playback," for maximum sound quality. MQA files and MQA-CDs are also decoded and played back. Various other high-resolution formats are supported as well, including WAV/AIFF, FLAC/ALAC, and DSD data.
Supports a Wide Range of Music Sources and Offers High Connectivity
With Google Cast™, the SL-G700M2 provides access to a wide variety of music streaming services via Chromecast-enabled apps. Wireless Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® connections are supported, as well as Apple AirPlay 2.*
High-Quality Chassis Construction and Decoupled Design for Optimal Sound Quality
The internal structure of the SL-G700M2 is divided into four sections, allowing the power supply, digital interfaces, analog circuits, and drive unit to operate independently. This separation of components reduces interference between circuits, ensuring clear, uninterrupted sound quality. The CD/SACD drive in the SL-G700M2 features a triple-layer chassis construction. Additionally, the SL-G700M2's drive includes a stable aluminum die-cast disc tray, which offers excellent vibration damping and ensures highly precise playback.
