JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise Shaping Optimization)
To ensure that the large amount of musical data is transmitted to the speakers faithfully and without loss, the SU-G700M2 uses a fully digital amplification system in the power stage, including the JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise Shaping Optimization). This design follows the principles set by Technics' reference-class systems. The SU-G700M2 also features Technics' jitter reduction circuit, which effectively eliminates unwanted timing errors (jitter) across the entire audible frequency range. This suppresses sound degradation due to jitter, unlike conventional digital amplifiers. Additionally, a unique, highly precise PWM conversion circuit is employed to enhance sound quality. Even music data with a high dynamic range, such as in high-resolution audio, is losslessly converted into PWM signals. The speed, degree, and quantization level of noise shaping have been optimized. These technologies enable an exceptionally natural and detailed reproduction, allowing the listener to experience even the finest nuances in the music.
LAPC (Load Adaptive Phase Calibration)
A speaker's impedance changes with frequency, and the power amplifier must drive the speakers regardless of their specific characteristics. Conventional digital amplifiers use a low-pass filter in the output stage to control the speakers, which increases the influence of the speakers' impedance characteristics. While traditional amplifiers can control amplitude characteristics through negative feedback, optimizing phase characteristics is not possible. Therefore, Technics developed an adaptive algorithm to optimize speaker impedance. This algorithm corrects the speaker's impulse response using digital signal processing by measuring the amplitude-phase characteristics of the amplifier with the connected speakers. This new method smooths the frequency response characteristics of both amplitude and phase, something conventional amplifiers cannot achieve. The time-correct signal generated by the amplifier results in a soundstage with precise spatial accuracy.
High-Performance Switching Power Supply - Advanced Speed Silent Power Supply
The power supply technology used in the reference model SU-R1000 has been implemented to enhance speaker performance and improve energy dynamics. The switching frequency has been increased from the conventional 100 kHz range to the 400 kHz range to ensure stable voltage and current supply, reducing the negative effects of modulation noise on audio quality. The device is equipped with the same GaN-FET and SiC SBD components as the SU-R1000 to maximize the performance of the high-speed switching power supply system.
High Sound Quality Through Triple-Section Construction
Integrated amplifiers contain various circuits, including those that process micro-signals at the inputs and others that handle large currents, such as output circuits and power supply circuits. The SU-G700M2 uses a triple-section construction with partitions between circuit blocks, arranged according to the signal level being processed. This design prevents interference between the circuit blocks, ensuring clear sound quality. In addition to the triple-section construction, the SU-G700M2 features a base chassis with a two-layer construction made of 1.2 mm and 2 mm thick steel plates, a top made of 1.6 mm thick steel plates, and a 7 mm thick aluminum front panel for enhanced vibration damping.
Low-Noise Phono Input
The PHONO MC input is now supported. To reduce noise, a low-noise field-effect transistor (FET) in a differential-parallel configuration is used in the input stage. A four-stage gain adjustment allows for optimal matching with the cartridge system in use, giving the user full flexibility with their equipment and listening environment.
Class AA Headphone Amplifier
The Class AA headphone amplifier features separate amplification circuits for voltage and current amplification of the headphone signal. A dedicated operational amplifier, capable of handling high currents, is used for current amplification. The high-resolution PWM output signal from the JENO Engine is converted into an analog signal with high precision. The result is optimal headphone performance. This technology allows for music playback with minimized distortion across an ultra-wide frequency range, regardless of the headphone's impedance.
