ADCT (Active Distortion Cancelling Technology)
The newly developed Technics feature, ADCT (Active Distortion Cancelling Technology), precisely extracts and eliminates distortions in the power stage caused by voltage drops and the electromagnetic effects of connected speakers, ensuring excellent sound performance with various types of speakers. By detecting discrepancies between the speaker output and the JENO output, the digital output signal is corrected. This allows for powerful speaker operation and strong sound energy, while also offering the superior qualities of a digital amplifier, such as low noise, sharp sound imaging, and expansive sound atmosphere, regardless of the type of connected speakers.
"Advanced Speed Silent Power Supply" Ensures Stable Performance with Low Noise
The SU-R1000 utilizes a switching power supply to provide a stable current and voltage for the digital amplifier. The Advanced Speed Silent Power Supply eliminates modulation noise, which often degrades sound quality in conventional switching power supplies, by operating at a switching frequency in the 400 kHz range. Additionally, a Super Low Noise Regulator is employed to minimize the noise in high-frequency ranges caused by the fixed switching frequency and the reduction in regulation. The result is a power supply with fast response time and high performance.
Four Independent Power Supplies
To ensure and further improve the best possible sound quality, Technics has redesigned every component of the power supply in the SU-R1000, using four independent power supply units for different circuit blocks. In an integrated amplifier like the SU-R1000, the internal circuits consist of a preamp stage and a power amplifier, combining both analog and digital circuits. The phono EQ, which processes very small analog signals, is particularly susceptible to noise transmitted through the power supply line. Therefore, the SU-R1000 uses separate power supplies for the analog and digital circuits in the preamp stage. Additionally, it employs dedicated power supplies for the left and right power amplifier channels, which require significant power. By using four independent power supplies, the SU-R1000 effectively prevents power line-induced interference between circuit blocks, achieving a high signal-to-noise ratio and excellent channel separation.
High-Quality Digital and Analog Inputs and Outputs
Both the phono input and the analog input circuits feature a fully discrete design. Technics has successfully developed an ideal symmetrical circuit layout with highly precise tuning. This effectively prevents interference between the right and left channels and allows for optimal channel separation. Furthermore, both the phono and XLR inputs use fully balanced transmission to ensure accurate signal transmission with minimal noise. Additionally, the USB input circuit is equipped with a high-quality ruby mica capacitor and a power conditioner with magnetic carbon resistors, which block electrical noise from sources such as a PC and minimize external interference. The A/D converter features a high-performance chip from Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) for precise analog-to-digital conversion. This ensures excellent sound quality from all analog and digital sources through the SU-R1000.
Extremely Stable Chassis Design
To suppress disruptive and sound-affecting vibrations, Technics has significantly enhanced the rigidity of the chassis. The internal structure features a double-layered, separated design. The upper section houses the power amplifier, including the amplifier circuit and power supply. The preamplifier section is located in the lower section, containing the analog input circuits, including the phono EQ, as well as the digital inputs and their respective power supplies. Both the upper and lower sections, along with the individual circuit blocks, are separated by massive steel shielding plates, which also improve chassis rigidity. The front panel is 10 mm thick, while the side walls and top cover are made of 6 mm thick aluminum plates with an alumite finish. Additionally, Technics has improved the stiffness and vibration resistance. The heavy-duty feet, which support the chassis, are made of cast iron with excellent damping properties. The use of high-quality components and materials significantly enhances signal quality and effectively eliminates the impact of external vibrations.
