Hello and a happy new year. I too must disappoint all those who are expecting a negative comment. I bought two Nubert Nubox 360 bookshelf speakers in 1998 as a temporary solution due to having children. I listened to many other bookshelf speakers beforehand and then ordered Nubert. Once the offspring are out of the woods and floorstanding speakers have a chance of survival again, I will definitely not order Nubert again - I will listen to various Nubert speakers myself and then make a decision for the next Nubert speakers. Because the price/performance ratio is currently unsurpassed - keep it up!!!

ANSWER to guestbook entry by Frederik Golitsch, dated 9.1. 2001 Dear Mr. Golitsch, Actually, we think it's okay to read something negative about our boxes in the guestbook. - However, this criticism should be FAIR and HONEST. You write something about the nuBox 300, which actually has an efficiency of 84.5 dB, but you quote the price of our nuBox 360 for this speaker (DM 299.- each, instead of 199.-). With this price you compare the Orbid-Sound Neptun, which is supposed to be 100 DM cheaper. However, the Neptun only costs DM 195 as a kit in an unfinished MDF cabinet. As a finished box with a black finish, the Neptun costs DM 280, which is considerably more than the nuBox 300. A nuBox 360, for example, has an efficiency of 87.5 dB at 1 watt at a distance of 1 meter. This means that (as a 4 Ohm speaker) it delivers a sound level of 87.5 dB (A) with a 2 V power supply at a distance of 1 meter in free field or in an anechoic chamber in the mid-range. However, it can be loaded with 100 watts (nominal load capacity) and then delivers 107.5 dB (minus approx. 1 dB compression effect). If you want to achieve a balanced frequency response with a decent bass range down to around 60 Hz (-3 dB point) and very good impulse stability, it is not physically possible to significantly increase the efficiency of a speaker of this size. If a speaker the size of the Neptun has an efficiency of 92 dB, this means nothing other than that this speaker has no bass (i.e. at least 8 dB drop at 60 Hz). - So there are only 2 sound alternatives for such a speaker (if it is operated without a subwoofer and with a linear amplifier): Either it sounds thin and metallic, or it is nasal and tuned far too rich in the middle. There are indeed different directions of listening taste - but to say in general that the Neptun offers a better sound than a nuBox 300 or 360, you have to have a rather unusual listening taste and a good deal of self-confidence in your own judgment. To design such a speaker, all you have to do is reduce the crossover, which consists of 20 components in the nuBox 360, by 17, 18 or 19 components and you can even install two much cheaper speakers - and you'll have plenty of mids and highs - but no more neutral reproduction. - Of course, we could offer such a speaker for far less than DM 200.- The nuBox 360 is superior in linearity to most studio monitors known to us (as you can read in the dubious tests you cited. Do you think that Stiftung Warentest, which described the sound character of the nuBox 360 (issue 9 /2000) as neutral, is also dubious? The 360 can fill larger rooms with sound and is often used in recording studios as a nearfield monitor. The nuBox 300 is described in the brochure as a good-sounding speaker for small rooms and, with its 50 watts and efficiency of 84.5 dB, has only been designed for medium volumes (max. approx. 100 dB at a distance of 1 m). I recently got the nuWave 3 and the nuWave CS4 for music and movies. And there are really only 2 things to say about Nubert: - Fantastic sound: very natural, lively, powerful... movies and music are really fun (compared to my previous speakers, which weren't bad at all, these are worlds of sound!) - Unparalleled service!!!! There is probably no other manufacturer here in Germany that puts so much effort into customer satisfaction before AND after the purchase. My next investment has already been decided: a Nubert subwoofer!

Hello dear Nubert team, I recently had the pleasure of carrying out a comparison test between your nuBox 300 and the Orbidsound Neptun. A few questions: What is the value of an efficiency of 84.5 dB(A) if the sound image is quite distorted at this volume, which is really not very high? Even at its maximum efficiency of 92 dB(A), the Neptun can still deliver a completely clean and brilliant sound. Why do you show little meaningful frequency response in your technical information sheet? Why can the Neptun undercut its DM 299 price tag by DM 100 ? The fact is: The Orbidsound Neptun offers a better sound at a lower price. Even dubious tests from the relevant trade journals cannot hide this fact. With critical regards, Frederik Golitsch

Now that I'm starting to replace my speaker collection (home theater) and have already sold my center with the corresponding surround LS, I got the stupid idea and bought a CS-4 as a replacement. Guys, what suddenly happened in the center area?!?!! OK, I still have two old Pioneer 3-way speakers for the surrounds, but my good old SABA Professional (30' bass) will probably be replaced this month by nuWave8 and a sub from the same company. That's really the drug! Just thinking about it when I have the speakers in my room... I'll report back....

hello Nubert team, after finally finding time to set up my new system (Harman-Kardon AV amplifier with DVD player) and also connecting my new nuWave 8, nuWave RS5, CS4 and the AW7, I was quite impressed. However, I have to admit that something wasn't quite right. When I bought spikes for the nuWave8 and tried them straight away, I was really surprised. An unbelievable gain in purity, imaging and bass, I could only wiggle my ears. Why don't you offer such a good speaker directly with spikes? Apart from that, I really have no reason to be negative about you. Great advice, fast shipping = satisfied customer in Bavaria

Who can tell me about their experience with the nuBox 460 / 390 in surround and stereo? Would be pleased about a small test report !

I bought the Nu - Line RS 3 a few days ago to build a digital home theater !!! When the goods arrived at my door 24 hours later, however, I was flabbergasted !!! Firstly because of the fast service and secondly when I tested my speakers ....... I had to make sure twice that I really hadn't switched to 5.1 !!! These two speakers made so much sound and low bass that I couldn't resist turning them up until the neighbor came !!! A HIGH regard for the Nubert team and its technicians and respect for its speakers!

Dear Nubert team, after browsing through your guestbook for a while now, it shouldn't really be worth writing a few lines. But you deserve it!!! When I dropped by in Aalen this morning, I was given the best possible advice! (Many thanks again Mr. Hutter!) I am completely thrilled about the two 460 and the CS-3! ...but one thing I have to criticize: what should I do with the subwoofer I bought 2 weeks ago? Because with the level stability I don't really need it anymore!!! mfg. René Flindt
