Details

High-Performance Driver
The 12-inch driver was developed according to our specifications: high efficiency, high maximum excursion, low resonance frequency, and precisely tuned to the parameters of the bass reflex enclosure. Your advantage: a subwoofer that combines deep bass and precision while optimally converting the provided amplifier power into outstanding acoustic performance.
X-Connect und X-Connect Surround
Freedom for the woofer. The nuSub series can receive both X-Connect and X-Connect Surround and can therefore be directly connected wirelessly with many Nubert devices. By means of nuConnect trx, the wireless technology can also be retrofitted to other systems. Your advantage: stable connection and free placement of the subwoofer.

X-Remote
Our subwoofers don't have an included remote control, because your smartphone takes care of that. Our Nubert X-Remote app works with the power-saving Bluetooth LE standard and provides access to all functions of the subwoofer. Your advantage: full control at all times and no more aiming necessary.
X-Room Calibration
Your smartphone is also the heart for our calibration function X-Room Calibration, which automatically corrects the bass by ± 6dB in the range of 20 to 160 Hz with fully parametric equalizers. IOS devices serve directly as a microphone for the algorithm, Android devices require an additional microphone due to different hardware equipment. Your advantage: Better bass reproduction for your listening position.

Colours
Our nuSub models are silk-matt and multi-layer lacquered. The choice is yours: White for a subtle look in the living room or timeless black as a statement for the home theater?
Design
The trend is towards greater integration into living spaces and a more inconspicuous appearance for loudspeakers. The design brief was therefore clear: a clean front with gentle curves. The result is a subwoofer that could be mistaken for a seat cube and blends in discreetly.
Series overview
Our nuSub series consists of 4 models, is the latest generation of our woofers and relies on downfire technology. The subwoofers are controlled via the Nubert X-Remote app and can be calibrated to the room via X-Room Calibration from your smartphone. In addition, all subwoofers can also be controlled wirelessly via radio.

Enclosure
We recommend commercial window cleaner sprayed onto a cotton cloth. This allows almost all fingerprints and dust to be easily removed. Alternatively, you can also use window active foam.
We advise against the use of microfibre cloths! These can cause mini scratches in the surface.
Diaphragms and Speaker Chassis
To remove dust from a loudspeaker chassis, a lint-free cotton cloth is sufficient to wipe the membrane lightly with very little pressure.

Leider kein Subsonic Filter einstellbar

Speaker Type, Sound, and Usage Recommendation
When only the best will do, the nuSub XW-1200 is the perfect choice. With over 400 watts of peak power and a lower cutoff frequency of 19 Hertz, the largest and most powerful subwoofer in the nuSub series achieves impressive performance levels, effortlessly handling even the most demanding tasks. Whether as a powerful effects device in a home theater, a top-tier soundbar companion, a wireless sub-sat system with compact speakers, or a partner for a high-end hi-fi setup—the nuSub XW-1200 is the ultimate solution for those seeking maximum depth and earth-shaking bass impulses.
Thanks to its new amplifier module with increased continuous and music power, generous power supply reserves, and, most notably, its mighty 32 cm low-frequency driver with ultra-wide excursion, the nuSub XW-1200 delivers breathtaking low-frequency performance. It enhances home concerts with rich, harmonic undertones or unleashes deep bass storms, depending on the application and audio material. In fact, the nuSub XW-1200 even surpasses the legendary nuLine AW-1100, which has been named "Subwoofer of the Year" multiple times by various professional magazines (see test references).
The nuSub XW-1200 also includes all the advantages of its more compact siblings, such as its elegant, room-friendly downfire design, convenient smartphone app control, and wireless connectivity. It can be wirelessly connected via a transmitter—either an amplifier or active speaker from Nubert’s X-Series (e.g., nuConnect ampX, nuXinema preAV, nuPro XS, etc.) or the nuConnect trX. This practical wireless module even enables older AV receivers or stereo amplifiers to join the wireless era. Multiple nuSub subwoofers can be used simultaneously to achieve the most balanced and harmonious low-frequency distribution in a room. Alternatively, the nuSub XW-1200 can also be connected via a line input.
There are multiple control options for ease of use. The crossover frequency and level adjustments can be made using the rotary knob on the back of the subwoofer. Pressing the knob switches between the two functions, with the current setting indicated by color-coded LEDs. A simpler and more intuitive option is the free Nubert X-Remote app for iOS and Android, which provides a graphical interface for seamless control. The app’s calibration function even allows the subwoofer to be perfectly tuned to the room’s acoustics, reducing unwanted resonance and "bass voids." More details on the mobile app can be found in the section below.
This device can be wirelessly paired with other X-Platform products via Nubert’s X-Connect and X-Connect Surround standards.
Both standards enable high-resolution, secure, and low-latency audio transmission. X-Connect delivers two channels at 192 kHz and 24-bit for maximum stereo performance, while X-Connect Surround transmits up to eight channels at 48 kHz and 24-bit, ensuring seamless and elegant integration into multi-channel setups.
Speakers from the nuPro X and XS series, as well as the ampX amplifier, operate using the X-Connect standard, as does the nuConnect trX adapter, which enables Hi-Fi and home theater products from other manufacturers to be integrated into the wireless network. Meanwhile, the nuPro XS-8500 RC soundbase and the nuXinema preAV AV preamplifier utilize the X-Connect Surround standard.
With the models from our nuSub series, both stereo satellite speakers and soundboards, as well as home theater systems, can be effortlessly expanded.
Construction Principle and Enclosure
The nuSub XW-1200 is designed as an active bass reflex subwoofer with a downfire configuration. This means that both the driver and bass reflex ports radiate downward. Solid feet with height-adjustable spikes ensure proper distance and a stable, level stance. The specific acoustic challenges of this design are mastered through the clever use of a digital signal processor—more on this in the "Control, App, and Room Calibration" section below.
One of the advantages of the downfire construction principle is its discreet design. As a sleek, cubic shape with gently rounded edges, the XW-1200 integrates elegantly into virtually any interior style. The connections and controls are subtly placed on the rear panel. The enclosure is made of sturdy and acoustically advantageous MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and features a premium satin-matte finish.
Chassis
The nuSub XW-1200 features a newly developed 32 cm driver with an exceptionally long excursion. Inspired by the legendary nuLine AW-1100 driver, this component was optimized through extensive testing to meet the specific requirements of this new subwoofer and its downfire design. A broad, flexible surround allows for particularly deep cone movement. The generously dimensioned drive unit with a dual magnet system boasts high efficiency and can produce enormous sound pressure levels with minimal distortion. To enhance durability in continuous operation, all key components have been thermally optimized. Additionally, the integrated signal processor ensures precise equalization, maintaining optimal control over the driver in any playback situation.
Amplifier Module
The amplifier in the nuSub series is based on the proven digital amplifiers of the nuPro series, offering the same high-quality signal processing and impressive efficiency. The power supply in the nuSub XW-1200 has been further improved compared to the nuSub XW-700 and XW-900 models, delivering significantly higher peak and sustained power output. The output filters have also been adjusted to accommodate the increased power capacity.
With a rated output of 360 watts and a peak output of 420 watts, combined with outstanding impulse fidelity, the nuSub XW-1200 delivers an impressive bass performance even in larger listening rooms. All settings are managed by the built-in digital signal processor (DSP).
Optional Wireless Operation
The subwoofers in the nuSub series feature a line input, allowing them to be connected via a Y-cable to standard receivers and amplifiers with a subwoofer output. Alternatively, each subwoofer can also receive audio signals wirelessly. Recommended transmitters include our nuConnect ampX and nuXinema preAV amplifiers or a master speaker from the nuPro X and XS series (such as the nuPro XS-4000 or the nuPro XS-8500 soundbar). Additionally, we offer the nuConnect trX transmitter module, which enables traditional receivers to be upgraded for the wireless era. The typical wireless range is around 15 meters, offering a variety of flexible setup options.
Control, App, and Room Calibration
In addition to the rotary knob on the subwoofer, control can also be handled via the free Nubert X-Remote app for iOS and Android. The app is particularly recommended for complex operations, as it presents advanced functions—such as setting the crossover frequency—in a highly intuitive interface. The program automatically adapts its menu layout to match the features of the connected device. A speaker from the nuPro X series, for example, offers different functions than the nuConnect ampX integrated amplifier.
One of the app’s key features is bass equalization, which ensures optimal low-frequency performance at the listening position while effectively minimizing problematic room modes. The process is simple: open the app, connect to the nuSub, and navigate to "X-Room Calibration" from the main menu in the top left. Follow the app’s instructions to start calibration. All it takes is playing and recording the test signal (white noise) for a few seconds—the process is largely automatic. The smartphone or tablet then analyzes the recorded test signal to calculate the optimal tuning curve, which is transmitted to the subwoofer’s digital signal processor (DSP) for permanent storage. The calibration can be saved in one of the preset slots, allowing users to compare the optimized sound with the unprocessed playback at any time. The X-Room Calibration feature can be used alongside other sound adjustments.
Important: Due to technical reasons, the calibration process works seamlessly on modern iOS devices without additional accessories. However, Android smartphones and tablets use a variety of microphones with different parameters, leading to inconsistent measurement results. The solution is the optional Nubert XRC Android Interface: a compact plug-in module that connects via USB Type-C and provides the X-Remote app with access to a precise measurement microphone and an advanced analog-to-digital converter. With this practical USB dongle, the XRC system can accurately capture the test tone and room response, enabling the app to calculate and apply the optimal correction curve. More details can be found in the user manual.
