NuLine 284 - after 25 years, a new system (Denon AVR 2313 + DBT-1713UD) and new speakers were due. From the test reports and the dimensions, I had my eye on the NuLines 264, which I was able to listen to/watch in comparison with the following speakers at Nubert's premises: NuLine 284, NuVero 11, NuLine 122 and Nubox 681. The Nuline 264 was impressive, especially considering its size, the NuBox 681 scored with better efficiency and bass, but fell behind in terms of precision and in the mid and high frequencies. The Nuline 284 finally blew me away, tonally balanced (everything from church choirs to hard rock was tested here and found to be wonderful) and yet pure understatement. The Nuline 122 has more bass, but doesn't come close to the balance of the Nuline 284. I found the gap between it and the NuVero 11 to be smaller (albeit on the upper end), which played even more effortlessly and smoothly and also looked better. After my brother and I played the speakers quite loudly for a while, we went back to room volume, which ultimately tipped the scales in favor of the Nulines 284. They are still too big for my wife, but you can confidently do without a subwoofer here. This speaker is a musical all-rounder and also sounds wonderful in my home. When my wife has calmed down, a NuLine Center will be due, while I will have to look for a more inconspicuous solution than the Nuline 24 or WS-14 for the rear speakers.

Tcha what can I say,
I bought my first speakers from Nubert 20 years ago and then at some point made the mistake of buying a ?cheap? 5.1 surround system (OK, my wife no longer wanted the big speakers in the living room ;-) ).
Now I had to make another decision (new receiver and speakers) and yes, there it was again, the really good and friendly advice from Nubert (special thanks to Mr. Siegle). I went in with my opinion/idea and left with his (without regretting it)!
Super advice, super service and excellent price/performance ratio?
Thanks to the whole Nubert team

omg! I almost sent the phenomenal NuPro A-20 back after listening to the bass killer "Ernie" by Fat Freddy's Drop (YouTube or on Simfy). The abysmal bass kicks in after 60 seconds and there's always a noise at a higher pitch at the same time - a kind of metallic clanking - but nothing like that: the speaker only makes a mistake by the recording engineers audible.

AW 600 subwoofer

So: Unpacked, the sound and the finish (walnut decor) are convincing. Sound comparison with my previous sub (AW 440) easily justifies the new purchase.

But there is one thing I have to ask at this point: How on earth can you develop a subwoofer suitable for a living room.... that BLINKS in standby mode?

What the heck do you have to think when developing the (sonically convincing) circuits if you have an LED flashing merrily as soon as the owner switches a device OFF? You can also create siren wailing when you switch the volume control to "quieter".

With all due respect, the AW 600 is a great device. If it's supposed to go OFF, I don't expect any permanent bling-bling. Engineering jokes can certainly be more delicate.

Best regards from a (sound-technically) convinced customer
Eric

We are pleased that we were able to convince you in terms of sound. The discreet flashing LED was ultimately a compromise that our engineers had to make, as there was no other software solution for this on/standby signaling that would not have led to criticism.

Who likes to buy a product that they haven't seen, let alone heard of? That was the case with the
AW 500, which I have now been using for a few weeks in exchange for the Canton. After calibration with the Onkyo, the power development and the sound image fit perfectly with the overall system. The subwoofer is not dominantly bass overloaded. However, it really comes into its own during action-packed movie scenes and music, which can sometimes be listened to a little louder. The adjustment to the movie and sound material via the remote control is ingenious.
The decision to buy the AW 500 was the right one, even if we didn't have any experience with it yet.
Thanks to the Nubert team for the excellent subwoofer.

I'd like to say a few words about the NuPro-A20s that I recently bought here.
I thought they were phenomenal right from the start.

I really didn't think it was possible, but after several hours of daily sessions, the speakers seem to have settled in.
The cream pieces are even more breathtaking in sound color and these dry basses at half volume in front of the Mac ... a pleasure ... I was really on cloud nine earlier and listened to some properly produced tracks / mixes ... what can I say ... I experienced the.....
Dear Nubert team, you have made me absolutely happy with these great speakers, by far my best purchase in recent years.
I'm off to enjoy them again.
Greetings to Schwäbisch Gmünd

Good afternoon,
I am writing my first entry in this forum today. The reason is the purchase of my 14er about 4 weeks ago.
For years I was a so-called disciple of the direct competition. I tried almost everything this manufacturer had to offer. In the end, I ended up with the company's master set. At first I wasn't dissatisfied at all, but after a move I was able to really let off steam (neighbors). And that's when the first doubts arose. The satellite woofers' diaphragms were hitting at high volumes and the sub was cracking when very low frequencies were played loudly. All on an Onkyo TX-NR 5009.
After a long period of research, I decided on the Nuvero 14, initially without a sub and additional satellites for cost reasons.
In comparison, the 14's bass response was somewhat slimmer than that of the U-doc. But they were much more precise and faster. I was pleasantly surprised by this. The problem with the room modes that had arisen in the new listening rooms had also almost disappeared.
But the big hit was the treble and mid-range. Setting: highs=neutral, mids=premium, overall=voluminous. The high-quality satellites of my previous systems had simply not produced such a precise reproduction.
I particularly noticed that although the sound was very clear and precise/present, the tweeter and midrange never became too sharp or annoying/straining, even at higher levels.
Here I remember an old pair of my friend's Kappa Infinity 9.1i speakers connected to two Parasound power amplifiers; at that time the high-end par excellence that was known to us. Compared to the 14, it sounded noticeably tiring and almost painful at somewhat higher levels. The overall sound of the K9.1i could almost be described as mushy.
Conclusion 14s: Silky-smooth and yet high-resolution treble / A midrange presentation that doesn't swallow or discolor any detail / And a bass performance that starts in the kick bass range and hardly misses anything even in the deepest bass cellar (at best a bit thin as written above)

Note: Initially, the 14 lacked a bit of stage and depth. But this "healed" over time. After about 1 week of break-in time, this condition improved and today I can speak of a very spatial presentation. I am now seriously considering whether I still need a center or not. The localization of events is impressive and is really fun in 2.0 mode.

A few days ago I added a little brother, the AW 17, to the 14 pair.
I decoupled the 14 at 40 Hz downwards. From there, the 17 took over with flying colors. According to the data sheet, it plays down to 18 Hz. I would say it feels like it does the same. The fast bass impulse is striking here, suddenly there and then quiet again. While watching TV series, my wife noticed some deep bass pulses that were hardly noticeable before. Hats off! A real addition to the 14s which already have a very good bass performance. The sound pressure is also extreme. I felt I could generate more volume than with the previous system from a competitor, although it's hard to believe.
In short: I have not regretted the purchase and would like to take this opportunity to praise Mr. A. Siegle's patient advice. Perhaps I'll call again soon and ask for advice on a few surround satellites.
On that note, have a nice day.

Hello,
I received my Nuline 264 set by UPS today. The speakers are the best I have heard in the last few years. With my Denon AVR-4311 the sound is a dream. I think I will also buy the ATM nuvero 11.

Keep up the good work......

Hello,
I have been the happy owner of a 5.1 set from the NuLine series since the end of 2011. The set has already given me many enjoyable hours and the listening pleasure is still undimmed today. As I often visit the Nubert homepage and keep an eye out for new products, I noticed that a lot has changed in the NuLine series. I am really impressed by the appearance and technical data of the new NuLine 284. If I hadn't already invested in Nubert, I would probably do so now at the latest. I may take the opportunity to listen to the sound characteristics in the listening studio. Who knows whether I won't end up replacing my existing speakers after all.

Keep up the good work and best wishes from the south.
Flo
