nuBox AW-443 in a high-end system

Hello Mr. Nubert,

For personal reasons, I had to move to a smaller apartment and part with my very large high-end floorstanding loudspeakers. With the newly purchased compact speakers
I was very happy with the new compact speakers I bought, despite the compromises I had to make. The only thing I missed was the low bass range. My hope of being able to compensate for this with an active subwoofer led to the decision to give the nuBox AW-443 a try. My hopes were completely fulfilled, even better than expected! The AW-443 can be perfectly adjusted thanks to its setting options. The fact that this can be done by remote control is simply great. I control the subwoofer line in via my tube preamp, from the woofer it goes line out to the tube monos.
I can recommend the AW-443 without reservation, even as a supplement or upgrade to a very high-quality hi-fi system.
Many thanks and a big compliment!
With best regards,
Jürgen

Hello Mr. Nubert,

Having been a hifi enthusiast since my studies 25 years ago, I have been looking for a new speaker system for the past year.
At first I toyed with the idea of building something myself. You have a unique speaker, can tune the WAF beforehand and have something to do in your free time for a long time. So I got started, made phone calls, did the math, listened, etc.. Then there were the conversations with friends who prefer Linn. I then listened to the new speakers on our monos at your place in Aalen.
In the end, the evaluation phase was exciting. I wasn't any the wiser, as I know from many years of experience that you should listen to the speakers at home.
I didn't ask the Linn dealer in our area. I didn't have the best experience last time. Besides, the speakers were too expensive or we didn't like them, and my wife also had a say in this.
So I took a pragmatic approach, ordered boxes, paid with an Amazon account, received the boxes on time and then set them up with my wife. I heaved the previous speakers, 2 large Tannoys, into the cellar and connected my 4 Sysm Asym monoblocks in bi-amping.
You probably want to read now that music can be heard again. First of all, that is correct. However, I would like to differentiate a little: The set-up was a bit time-consuming, the adjustment options varied and the speakers took about 2 weeks to break in, then music came out...great music. Unfortunately, the speakers now show me that my current sources are not good enough. The difference between Mp3, CD and phono playback, I run a Naim CD S, Lp 12 with Ittok and Lingo on a home built VV and the 4 SysmAsym mono's, is huge and immediately audible. That's wonderful. I've missed that for a long time.
The decisive factor is the signal. What you don't put in, doesn't come out.
You can hear that with your speakers and that's very good.
In terms of sound, the speakers are great, I would like to agree with the test reports, but they should be used with really good sources and amplifiers, because they hear everything....
Congratulations! Beautiful design! Great sound!
I'm now looking for a better, very good source, FLAC, as I want to exploit the full potential of the speaker.
I also recommend all buyers to take their time with the setup. I spent a few days trying and listening until I found the optimum switch position and speaker position. In my case, the speaker is positioned quite freely and the treble is gentle, no bass reflex closures, no damping of the bass.

Greetings from Neumarkt

Ingo

This article is based on my own experience; it does not exaggerate a single point!

I'm sure every customer has at one time or another experienced what is commonly referred to as "Germany's service desert".

There are oases there! One oasis is called "Nubert Schwäbisch-Gmünd"

Yesterday, the consultant, Mr. Bühler, provided me with an almost unimaginably high quality of advice in connection with the nupro AS-250 product, which has been celebrated in many tests and in the press as an "honest active soundbar". I also never had the feeling of being under time pressure during the conversation; I was listened to and advised in a completely relaxed manner, even when a question had to be answered twice. And Mr. Bühler's advice was neutral, without taking any potshots at the competition.

Now I have made up my mind. Other makes and models may well inspire in terms of the number of technical features and/or connections per se and certainly be cheaper in one case or another, but not cheaper, but shortcomings in bass, for example, send the real music lover back into the fast lane to Nubert, into the honest realms where great music still matters instead of dazzling the customer with technical bells and whistles.

So off to the nupro AS-250 with the good feeling of purchasing a successful product and the certainty of being regularly welcomed by the customer advisor if you need his advice. A rare package in this day and age.

Dear Günther Neubert, stick with the cobbler's trade, your customers will thank you for it. You and your products stay great; all the best for 2016.

It's been a long time since I bought Nubert speakers, so long that I can't even remember exactly when it was. The models from back then (NuWave 10, AW-90, CS-4 and RS-3) are now history. But having recently found the time and leisure for music again, I would like to express my thanks to Mr. Nubert and his colleagues. These speakers, even if they are no longer current, are still a lot of fun. Whether classical, rock or action movie, they master every challenge with playful ease.

I have only one disappointment to thank them for: when I attended my first concert in the Cologne Philharmonie, I was expecting an acoustic revelation. Then the orchestra started to play ... and it sounded the same as usual, neither more fullness nor more detail, nor were the individual instruments any easier to locate. This disappointment has not stopped me from attending further concerts (live is somehow different from canned music), but at home I now listen in a more relaxed way because I no longer doubt (doubts and the desire for improvement go back to my school days when I made my first speakers with loudspeakers from old tube radios from the bulky waste) whether my part of the reproduction chain is good enough.

Well, that had to be said. In this day and age, products that not only last a long time, but also continue to inspire after years, are unfortunately not a matter of course.

After many (enthusiastic) years of nuBox? in a surround system, the still quite new nuVero 110s have now been purchased for a separate stereo system. The assessment is quite simple: both the workmanship and the sound are absolutely top class; the speakers inspire from the very first moment, no matter what kind of music is being played. The Denon 1520AE series is currently used as the SACD player/amplifier; at no time have I had the impression that the amplifier could not drive the speakers sufficiently.

While I had ordered and received the various nuBox? models conveniently online, this time I listened to the nuVero 110 in the comfort of the listening studios in Schwäbisch Gmünd and compared it with various other nuLine and nuVero models. I would recommend a visit to the flagship store to anyone interested, as you can really test and compare the speakers at your leisure ? and if you wish, there are always very friendly and informative staff on hand (special thanks to Mr. Kohler and Mr. Botticella). There is also a large selection of TV, hi-fi and AV equipment.

Last but not least, the unique price-performance ratio of the speakers should not go unmentioned ? I can't imagine where I would get a similarly good speaker for the price of the 110 called for here. The fact remains: nubert is and remains my first choice for high-quality and inspiring loudspeakers.

I'm always incredibly enthusiastic when I play the Nad-fed 681 incl. ATM 🙂
Since the ATM has been attached, the Sup has been offered for sale by Ca*****, the problem: I raved about the 681 so much that the interested party wanted to listen to them in his area, which were also for sale (used)!
Well, I'm still sitting on the subwoofer now, but I made someone else happy with my tip 😬
If you were better known among laypeople, I think you could do a lot ❗

Happy holidays

The AW-12 now does its job brilliantly here. The woofer is an absolute feast for the eyes, in my opinion the look has made a big leap from the old nuVero series. In terms of sound, it fits perfectly into my ensemble with tight, hard bass. Thanks to NSF's perfect service in terms of exchanges and complaints, which is unique as always. 😂

Happy holidays!

We've been interested in high end since the 80s!
Problem before: the real high lights were simply unaffordable!
So we switched to the British hi-fi scene. Early on there were audiophile amplifiers (Mission / Cyrus, Onix, Cambridge ....), wonderful players, some from the same manufacturers, and speakers (Spendor/Rogers) that played very well for us over the years.
A friend asked me in 2012 if I could recommend something to her. The budget was relatively tight and I remembered Nubert. Already in the 80s they were known for good speaker construction.
In short: I was thrilled when I was able to experience the recommended NuVero 4 on a NAD chain from the lower price segment. My girlfriend was absolutely thrilled!

It wasn't long before my wife and I were nodding to each other! Yes, we'll have the NuVero 11 sent to us and if it fits then... - Christmas is coming soon...! ... if not then back to the sender.

Result: The NuVero 11 on our Cyrus chain has thrilled us so much. A lot has happened in the development of loudspeakers over the last 20 years! The nice thing is that with Mr. Nubert, someone with both ambition and ability, also thanks to the Internet, has been able to establish himself visibly in this difficult market - full of vanity.

When I heard about the market launch of the first Nubert amplifier line by chance this year, I was immediately wide awake. If Mr. Nubert can develop and build amplifiers as balanced as he has developed loudspeakers, then... .

I calculated up and down and then "persuaded" my wife to "question" the Cyrus and had the NuControl and NuPower amplifiers sent to her.

It was incredible. All sources can be connected according to the state of the art (Toslink, Coax but also RCA (analog input!) for the good old Linn player with preamplifier). The look is all about understatement! Tidy, clearly structured and the high-quality workmanship of the two amplifiers had us eagerly awaiting the first playback. We didn't expect anything like this. This amplifier combo plays loud and quiet, classical to metal, from all players and, in our opinion, has no "tendencies" as is so often the case. Unrivaled CLASS in this price/performance class - and, according to our research, far beyond!

In the future, we will no longer press our noses against hi-fi studio windows and ponder whether a rechargeable battery... or , or would be better. No!

Congratulations to Mr. Nubert!

Conclusion: The core elements of our music system are now in place. No more doubts. Our existence as high-end junkies in search of an affordable amplifier/speaker combination has come to an end. We are thrilled. And if we don't like a live concert because of poor PA control (like Fat Freddy at the E-Werk recently), we leave the concert, buy the CD, drive home quickly and let it really "rock" at home! Without pain, everything in "perfection"! A joy!

Thank you for this courageous step Mr. Nubert, and good luck for the future.

Two weeks ago, my 4-year-old Nubox 681 had to make way for the Nuvero 110. After I had enough time to test the "new ones" extensively, here is my statement.

In order to be able to classify the following, but first a description of the overall system. The Nuveros are powered by a CREEK Evolution 5350 amplifier. I would like to mention explicitly that this has no tone control section, i.e. in and out. A Cambridge Audio 650 C CD player and an old Thorens TD 146 with Benz Micro system and a CREEK phono preamplifier serve as feeders.

While I was already impressed by the performance of the Nubox 681 back then, which had to replace my English studio monitors (although the comparison between a compact speaker and a floorstanding loudspeaker is certainly not entirely fair), the "sound gain" that I have now achieved by using the Nuvero 110 is fantastic.

If the difference is not so great in the bass range (the better precision and dynamics of the Nuveros should be mentioned here), enormous differences can be made out in the mid and treble range. The spatial imaging of the Nuveros is significantly better. A stage is created here that simply cannot be compared. Overall, the Nuvero 110s sound more natural / realistic; live recordings / CDs are really fun here. Our son described it like this: The Nubox are comparable to a hilly landscape, the Nuvero more like a mountain range.

However, if you look at the retail price of both speakers, you have to realize how much "sound" you actually get for your money with the Nubox. So if you don't want to pay the price for the Nuvero110, the Nubox 681 (now 683) is already a speaker with an excellent price-performance ratio. For everyone else, the Nuvero 110 is recommended due to its better performance.

Finally, I would like to mention that I mainly listen to rock, blues and metal.

Conclusion: In short, I can only recommend the Nuvero 110; a great-sounding speaker that can also really "rock".
