NuSub XW-900 and Nuvero 3? Why like this ;-)

I've been using the XW-900 for two months now and think it's time to write a few sentences about it.

First of all, I would like to let the interested reader know that I have been involved in the hobby of speaker construction for over 20 years. My main focus has always been on building stereo speakers that do not require a subwoofer, but still play deep and accurately at the same time.
But when I got fed up with my loudspeakers, I had to find something new. Unfortunately, I don't have much time at the moment, so Nubert came into play.

Well then ...

The XW-900 plays together with a pair of Nuvero 3s as a replacement for my original Nuvero 110s, which, like my old DIY speakers, unfortunately didn't stand a chance against my living room with bay window and open connection to the dining area and kitchen. Regardless of the combination of installation location and listening position, I have found no way of enjoying the outstanding qualities of the 110s at the listening position. As is so often the case, room modes and standing waves interfere with the bass. In my case, from 40 to 55 Hz the attenuation was well over 10db below the rest, and from 44 - 50 Hz there was nothing at all to be heard.
With a 110 speaker converted into a makeshift subwoofer, I found a good place for bass production (and also discovered what an incredible low bass potential the 110 speakers have), but unfortunately this was a completely unsuitable place for the actual stereo setup, namely about 1m behind the imaginary line between the stereo speakers and therefore behind the TV board. For a while, I considered using a subwoofer in addition to the 110s. But it didn't make sense for me to put these great speakers in the living room just to neuter them afterwards. So the 110s changed hands, which really pained me despite half a year of sound frustration. Today, I still feel uneasy about giving away these extremely elegant, timelessly beautiful and amazingly powerful speakers.

I know that none of this has had much to do with the XW-900 so far, but to simply write that the 110s didn't cut it was too crude for me.

As a self-confessed subwoofer detractor, I therefore had to find new ways and the above-mentioned sub/sat combination came about, which, to be honest, was not as easy to match as I had imagined.

But now that that's done, I enjoy my great sound every day, which wouldn't have been possible without the X-Room calibration. In conjunction with the installation location, this tool means that I now have an almost linear frequency response from 20 Hz upwards. And whether it's rocking dry kick basses, long, deep basses (Imagine Dragons - Bad Liar) or movie effects, everything fits exactly and offers an accuracy that I didn't think was possible in the bass range.
Precisely because the 110s were already sufficient "down low", the XW-700 would probably have sufficed. But since I like to turn things up a bit, and the Nuvero 3s are a real invitation to do so, I didn't want to push the sub to the limit all the time. And especially in view of the fact that room-related bass holes (have to) be filled with pure power by the room correction, the power reserve of an XW-900 seems sensible to me.

The icing on the cake would be the ability to change the equalizer for room correction manually. Just like the former DSP subwoofers.
The only real negative point of criticism I would mention is the lack of stepless phase control.

What else is there to say?
For the absolute purists, it should perhaps also be mentioned that no background noise can be heard even at enormous levels. I often read about this fear and the experience of others in connection with the downfire principle. I don't know why, but everything here is great.

I would also like to acknowledge that my "2nd choice subwoofer" is absolutely flawless, just like the "2nd choice Nuvero 110" was. That alone speaks for the absolute professionalism of the Nubert brand.

So now I hope to enjoy the subwoofer for a long time to come.

Hello and hello nubert team,

after long consideration I finally got the Nubert ATM active tuning module home.
Briefly about my system: DIY Thel power amp with DIY preamp, CD/DAC/headphone preamp and phono preamp from ProJect, AudioTechnica LP-7 turntable, ONKYO Integra TA-2750 tape deck, Sony MDS-J 920 QS mini disc player and the speakers are also DIY with Polk-Audio MB6513 or similar car speakers....and a 30 subwoofer DIY with Mivoc and Wyntec mono power amplifier (this thing really plays well below 20 Hz...) anyway, you can listen to great music with this combination.
Now to your device...well, 295 Ö is a good price but not exactly cheap.
I ordered it from you, it arrived within 3 days, neatly packed in a hard-shell case...only after a few days did I finally have time to connect it...first test run with a test CD...ahem....what's going on now...HAALLOOO...here in Bavaria we would say...yes, fuck you...(sh)...what's going on now...I switch off the subwoofer...there's no such thing...is that coming out of my speakers...??? Incredulous amazement...yes dear people this little speaker has truly magical (yes I know there is no such thing...) powers.
The clarity and substance coming out of the speakers is awesome, as if someone had pulled back the curtain. Unbelievable...!!!
So a big thank you to you and I'll never give the device away again...my full recommendation to all those who want to continue to enjoy their speaker treasures, get this mega price/performance highlight into your music room, it's worth it...I promise.
And you, yes you, the nubert team...you did everything right, please keep it up...maybe one or two of you will end up in my (music) home after all...

Many highfide greetings from Chiemgau on Lake Chiemsee

I have dissolved my home theater with 11 speakers from Nubert (Nuline 122 plus center, 4 Atmos nuline WS 14 subwoofers and and and. Since we are now moving into an apartment and no longer have the pleasure of enjoying these great speakers (home theater room) and have sold everything, I decided to call Nubert and get advice and what can I say Mr. Schneider gave us advice after my request for the Nuvero 140 that we could not resist. In combination with Musical Fidelity M6si a dream of the finest, the bass still has to be tamed, but we can do that (or the neighbors will kick us out again) Thank you very much for such great speakers and the great service from Nubert.

I bought the AW933 subwoofer in 2013. Two months ago, the woofer started humming and cracking. After a phone call, I was sent a box to send for repair. I was quoted a really fair price for the repair and shipping. The process was fast, fantastic and the contact was very friendly. I am glad that I own Nubert loudspeakers - top sound and top service! Keep up the good work! Thank you Nubert

Nuline 284 with Yamaha R-N803D

Dear Nubert team,

In January, I ordered the NuLine 264 according to the motto 'As much as necessary, as small as possible'. However, during the listening test at home, I had the impression that the speakers were too small and weak in my environment. I would have loved to drive to Schwäbisch Gmünd to save on shipping the super heavy speakers. But after a top consultation, a completely uncomplicated and quick exchange, I took delivery of the NuLine 284. Following a recommendation from Nubert, a new Yamaha R-N803D amplifier was also included. All of this did make an unplanned, significant dent in my budget, but it was extremely worthwhile. I enjoy listening to music every day and am delighted with my investment.

I was particularly surprised by the clear and precise sound, it's a real pleasure. It hardly makes a difference to me whether I listen to music quietly or loudly. However, by loud I only mean around the threshold of room volume. There is no additional quality to loud. Everything is already there, even relatively quietly. The neighbors are happy.

I often listen to music at a 90° angle, as no other position is possible. Of course, it's a bit better in the optimal triangle, but the NuLines are also very good if the listening position is not optimal. That's the way it has to be, I think. You can't always sit perfectly.

A good bass quality is necessary for a realistic live feeling. You can feel that the speakers are basically very good at this. In my room, which is very muffled due to all the furniture, it is perhaps more difficult. I usually turned the bass control up by half. Perhaps the ATM module will be useful at some point.

I always listen to Spotify. There were a few surprises with the NuLines. One of my favorite records Robbie Williams 'Live in Knebworth' somehow sounds totally muddy. I didn't even notice that with the old speakers. The live recording is probably too bad after all. Unfortunately, I hardly listen to it any more. It's just no fun anymore. Instead, I love listening to Dire Strait's 'Alchemy'. The clarity of the guitars with the NuLines is a real joy, every time.

I'm also surprised that the Supertramp record 'Crime of the Century' sounds completely different on Spotify and Deezer. On Deezer, the vocals are unrecognizable. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything about streaming services on the Nubert homepage. And little else either. Is the transmission from Spotify too poor for the NuLines? Should I switch to CD after all? I wouldn't want to do without Spotify any more. Questions don't belong in the guestbook, but perhaps the topic is generally valid and you can put something on your homepage that is understandable for laypeople.

Many thanks and best wishes from a completely happy customer.

You've done it again!
I ordered 2 nuPro X-4000 RC on Sunday evening and they arrived on Tuesday lunchtime. This isn't my first Nubert product, but I'm always amazed at how fast you are...and I don't even have Nubert Prime

The X-4000 RCs are replacing my A-200s at my desk.
The A-200s were already very good, but at higher volumes their bass was a bit weak. But I would like to emphasize that this is complaining on a very high level.
At first I "only" wanted to add a sub, but where to put it was the real problem.
So I ended up with the X4000 RC, not least because of all the excellent reviews and comments I read beforehand.
Admittedly, they are anything but cheap and many people will say: "1800 euros for a desk speaker, are you crazy?" Yes, a bit, but for me it's worth EVERY penny and you only live once.
So if anyone reading this is struggling with the idea, should I or shouldn't I?
Don't think twice, go for it - the boxes exceed every expectation

Nubert XW-1200 subwoofer.

Wow, that's a big one. But still relatively small for these performance data. Downfire instead of frontfire. But I have to say, the "thing" does what it's supposed to. Pressure! Not too much and not too little. You can easily change the many settings via the app, which is already a big advantage of its predecessor.
Can it also play music? Yes, it can! It supports my front speakers very well and harmonizes perfectly with them! Not intrusive, but emphatic! It's fast and does what it's supposed to do for every type of music. I can't see any disadvantages so far. It can be integrated into the surround system via cinch or wireless.
Really a very nice product. It might be useful to have more cabinet colors, e.g. ruby red for the NuVeros or walnut for the NuLines. But that would be the icing on the cake ;-)

After an intensive search to find good speakers for my LAP top, I came across Nubert thanks to a tip. I decided on the A-125 and am very happy with the speakers. Ordered on Friday and delivered on Tuesday. It couldn't be better!

After a few years of building my own loudspeakers (VISATON VIB and Concorde light), I ended up with Nubert after moving house and now own five pairs from the nuBox range, all of which I can recommend. I would particularly like to highlight the nuBox 513, which is a special highlight of the current range, both in terms of sound and appearance. I appreciate Nubert's technical/scientific approach to the subject of "What makes good loudspeakers/good sound?". Keep up the good work!
